Google Brazil Shows Interest In Getting To Know The Hórus Project

Last Thursday (May 2nd), representatives of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), the SmartCitiesBr Research Group of USP, and the startup Taqui, met with technicians from Google Brazil to discuss the construction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to improve public management and decision-making within public institutions. The meeting, held at the invitation of Google, aimed to discuss the potential of AI to optimize administrative and judicial procedures.

On the occasion, the General Director of Esmat, Justice Marco Villas Boas, and Professor Ana Carla Blechieriene, from USP, explained the unprecedented experience of the Hórus Project, under development at the School, which uses AI to automate the analysis of appeal admissibility. The project, the result of a partnership among Esmat, the University of the State of São Paulo (USP) and the startup Taqui, aims to reduce the time and cost of analyzing appeals, as well as increasing the accuracy and uniformity of decisions.

Professor Luciano Araújo, from the startup Taqui/USP, helped with the technical explanations, presenting the AI Sara, one of the tools built to support administrative and judicial procedures, which has made it possible to safely use generative AI to carry out more complex tasks. Daniel Mamoré spoke about the innovations that Google has presented for use in the Judiciary, as well as addressing the advances they have made in Gemini, in its 1.5 version, opening the doors of Google to the training of staff to use the platforms and tools that Google offers.
