TJTO supports the organization of the Forum on Security, Human Development and Social Cohesion promoted by Coplad/UN

The Forum on Security, Human Development and Social Cohesion, organized by the Latin American Permanent Committee for Crime Prevention (Coplad), in partnership with the Presidency of the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro and the State School of the Judiciary of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Emerj) and the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy (Copedem), began on Monday morning (April 15th) in the city of Rio de Janeiro, RJ. The event aims to reshape the world in the light of comprehensive approaches and it has the support of several Brazilian and international institutions.

The Forum aims to renew dialogues and commitments to citizenship and the functioning of institutions to alleviate poverty, in line with the New Common Agenda of the UN. In addition, it seeks to achieve a sustainable model of multilateral governance to promote peace, prosperity and a healthy environment, contributing to the implementation of the United Nations World University for Social Security and Development (UNU - WSSD) based in Brazil.

The Solemn Opening Session was attended by authorities such as the Minister-President of the Brazilian Supreme Court, Luís Roberto Barroso; Professor Edmundo Oliveira, General Coordinator of the Latin American Permanent Committee for Crime Prevention (Coplad), Program of the Latin American United Nations Institute for Crime Prevention and Offender Treatment (Ilanud); the National Scientific Coordinator of the Forum, Justice Marco Aurélio Bezerra de Melo; the Minister of the Brazilian Superior Court of Justice, Benedito Gonçalves, and other authorities.

The programming will be attended by the Director of the Latin American United Nations Institute for Crime Prevention and Offender Treatment (ILANUD), Douglas Durán Chavarría; the Head of the Human Security System of the UN, General Assistant Secretary for Human Security of the UN, Representative of Sir António Guterres, General Secretary of the United Nations (UN), Yukio Takasu; the President of the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Rodrigues Cardozo; the Justice of the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro; Doctor of Law; Coordinator of the Itinerant Justice Program of the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro, International Representative of the School of the Judges of the State of Rio de Janeiro (EMERJ) Cristina Tereza Gaulia; the CEO of Memory – Legal Memory Center Lourdes Gonçalves; the Legal and Compliance Director of J&F Investments, Mr. Lucio Batista Martins.

Copedem

The event has the support of Copedem, represented by its President, Justice Marco Villas Boas, responsible for coordinating the Planning Commission, and with the presence of the General Director of the State Judicial School of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Emerj), Justice Marco Aurélio Bezerra de Melo, as well as the Director of the Judicial School of the State of Rondônia (Emeron), Justice Alexandre Miguel; the Director of the State Judicial School of the State of Sergipe (Ejuse), Justice Iolanda Santos Guimarães; the Director of the School of the Judges of the State of Acre (Esjud), Justice Elcio Mendes; the General Director of the Judicial School of the State of Paraná, Justice Ramon de Medeiros Nogueira; the Justice of the TJPR and former Director of EJUD- PR José Laurindo Netto; the General Director of the Judicial School of the Judges of the State of Pará, Justice Célia Regina de Lima Pinheiro; the Director of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Piauí - ESMEPI, Justice José James Gomes Pereira and the Director of the School of the Judges of the State of Espírito Santo (EMES), Justice Júlio César Costa de Oliveira.
