The technological and educational evolutionary process, achieved by the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) in courses for training and improvement of Judges and servers, in Lato and Stricto Sensu post-graduate courses, was presented on the morning of Thursday (25th), in Portugal, during the 1st Edition of ExpoJud Portugal, which runs until Friday (26th) at the Faculty of Law of Lisbon. The Judicial Schools Panel: innovation, affection and technologies was the responsibility of Justice Marco Villas Boas, General Director and President of the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of Magistracy (COPEDEM).
In the panel, the numbers regarding the courses, events, and post-graduation programs of Esmat were presented and, especially, the important advances the School has made in the last 10 years, as well as the role it has played in enabling Judges and public servers to analyze the risks and benefits of using technology in judicial activity.
In the presentation, the digital pioneering of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins and the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins were highlighted; the importance of the use of technology in the creation of new teaching-learning methodologies; the need to take into consideration the emotions and feelings involved in human relations, even when intermediated by technologies; the need to provide a richer and more interactive learning experience; the advances in cyberlaw and neurolaw; and the way in which social relationships are maintained, even with the increasing realization of distance educational activities.
The emphasis was on the need for humans to build ethical, affective, collaborative relationships, and the importance of Portuguese-speaking countries sharing their experiences, with a view to strengthening the Lusophone legal community, a unique reason for the Event.
