With mediation of Esmat, the government of the State signs a partnership with UN concentrated in child and adolescent to prevent violence

administration, management, teaching, research and culture experiences related to the human developing and to the violence confrontation, the government of the State signed this Thursday 5th, in Palmas, Understanding Memorandum for the Technical, Academics and Scientific Cooperation Agenda with the Latin Institute of United Nations for the Crime Prevention and Offender Treatment (Ilanud), agency linked to the United Nations Organization (ONU).

“For me, it is very important being present in a so relevant act. Ilanud reinforces, now in Tocantins, a work that it has been already doing in Brazil focusing on the human developing, from initiatives oriented to the prevention. Hence the importance of that initiative oriented to give opportunities to our children and adolescents”, the Institute director has emphasized, Douglas Durán Chavarría. 

“It is the beggining of a big project that is to give opportunity to our young people and children to walk for a future with security and life quality”, Governor Mauro Carlesse has affirmed, before signing officially the partnership beside Douglas Durán Chavarría, the Civil House chief secretary, Rolf Vidal, and the School of Judges of Tocantins (Esmat) director, judge Marco Villas Boas, that has mediated the cooperation State-Ilanud, having the institution of Judiciary a strong dialogue with UN at the study and defense of the Human Rights.

Tributes 

At the opportunity, judge Villas Boas honored, with Esmat Medal, Douglas Durán Chavarría, the businessman Peter Host Vogler, that develops social projects in the sportive area, and the lawyer Luna Van Brussel Barroso, the Federal Supreme Court (STF) minister Luís Roberto Barroso’s daughter, that will be the official representative of the Latin America delegation, that will go to the 14th UN Congress, about Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, scheduled to happen next April, in Kyoto, Japan.

Unity in the Capital

Among the partnership proposals with the United Nations is the installation of an unit in the Capital of Ilanud in order to propose exchange projects and knowledge change. According to the director of the Institute, Douglas Durán Chavarría, the signature of the cooperation term is important because Ilanud can facilitate the activities execution and social projects. “Ilanud is a technical cooperation institute, in order to it could be interesting the training and research initiatives and also to have more knowledge about the phenomena related to violence, to criminality. Once we have more knowledge, we will have more opportunities to practice the prevention actions, in a way that it is relevant the signature of that intentions protocol”, he has emphasized.

For the general director of Esmat, with the technical cooperation, Tocantins government will be able to develop community assistance projects, as well as to the children and adolescents of the State. “We believe that a lot. And that way we comply our social transformation role,, proposed in the school of Judges, that is also a Judiciary primary function, like the society conflicts prevention, the social pacification, we hope having a better society with that”, he has emphasized. The auxiliary judge of the Presidency, Océlio Nobre, participated of the solemnity representing the judge Helvécio de Brito Maia Neto, President of the Court of Justice of Tocantins (TJTO).

Early Childhood

For the general secretary of the Latin America Committee for Crime Prevention and Criminal Law (Coplad) and general secretary of the World Forum of Human Security in Latin America – Agenda 2030, Doctor Eduardo César Leite, the agency develops a program directed to children from zero to six years focusing on the human security by the child vision, by an implemented project in which the 17 goals of sustainable development of the Agenda 2030 are debated.

So, that is the age range that we have to consider, that is the way that we have to follow and those are the patients that we have to devote ourselves.  The early childhood children”, he has affirmed.

Social Projects

During the solemnity, the businessman Peter Vogler, international representative from European sportive clubs, affirmed that he intends to formalize an assistance project directed to children and adolescents from Tocantins to enable exchanges and local talents identifications with focus on the practicing and training abroad. “My idea, in the first place, can be to establish a partnership with Generation Amazing that is a social project of the government of Qatar that has a strong support from Brazilian sportsmen. Then, we can use that force to obtain a partnership with them”, he has emphasised.
