Juliana Alencar Wolney Cavalcante Aires, a scholar in the PhD in Law Program (DINTER) at the University Center of Brasília (UniCEUB) and the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT), is conducting a scientific research entitled “Women in the State Justice of the State of Tocantins: the professional ascension, the interaction of profile and their identities, under the perspective of the institutional policy of gender equality”.
The study plans to analyze how the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins inscribes gender equality in its judicial policy, from the perspective of the career advancement of the women, the institutional flow of promotion, and the interaction of the profile and identities of the women research participants.
Therefore, women, servers or members of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO) in activity are being invited to participate in the project. Data will be collected using the qualitative-quantitative empirical method, with semi-structured interviews and focus groups, respecting the secrecy and confidentiality and the dictates of the LGPD, duly approved by the Ethics Committee and Term of Acceptance of the TJTO.
According to the scholar, the research is relevant for the understanding of the obstacles imposed by gender inequality in the development of actions to include women in prominent positions and power in the judicial system, besides contributing to an empirical understanding of this phenomenon.
