The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) announces that is already available for consultation the Notice that regulates the contest called “Esmat Journalism Award 2023”. With awards totaling R$ 55,500.00, registrations may be submitted from March 22nd to October 9th, 2023.
The action is an initiative of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO), which aims to stimulate and value the production of journalistic works, published in the local, state, and national press, that divulge actions in defense of the construction of social justice, the promotion of human rights, and the improvement of judicial services, in the scope of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins.
Who can participate?
The Esmat Journalism Award 2023 is open to professionals with higher education degrees in Communication: journalists, radio broadcasters, announcers, film reporters, photo reporters, photographers, and Radio and TV students and undergraduate students in Social Communication – Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, Advertising and MARKETING, Radio and TV, duly registered in higher education institutions, operating in the State of Tocantins, according to the regulations.
The requirements for participation are, in addition to professional qualification, certification in higher education in Social Communication - Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, Publicity and MARKETING, Radio and TV, to be an individual, over eighteen years old, resident in the national territory, and to comply with the provisions in the other items of this normative.
What are the categories of the Esmat Journalism Award 2023?
The award will have six categories, five of which are for journalism professionals, and one for Social Communication students. Let's see:
Telejournalism: Granted to the best report broadcasted in Portuguese language in open or closed TV stations installed in the state of Tocantins.
Webjournalism: Granted to the best report in Portuguese language on a SITE, BLOG or news portal installed in the state of Tocantins, since it is structured through the characteristics of webjournalism.
Radio journalism: Granted to the best report broadcasted in Portuguese in AM or FM radio stations located in the state of Tocantins
Photojournalism: Granted to the best photograph published on a SITE, BLOG, news portal, newspaper or TV in the state of Tocantins.
Print journalism: Granted to the best report published in Portuguese in a print newspaper or magazine published in the state of Tocantins, on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Academic: Granted to the best work published in Portuguese, in any media, such as newspaper, TV, radio, WEB (SITE, BLOG) or even photography, as long as it is referenced by the professor and teaching institution.
About the Award
The work with the Best score among all the registered ones in its respective category will be awarded. The Judiciary of the State of Tocantins will award certificates and cash prizes (in Brazilian currency) to the winners of each category in net values.
Each participant can compete with up to three works per category, and can be awarded only once in each category in which they have registered. The winning works will receive, as a prize, the values listed below, through bank deposit in an account held by the author of the work and prize-winning work or by the team representative.
Telejournalism
1st Place - R$ 8,000.00 (eight thousand reais) and certificate; 2nd Place - R$ 5,000.00 (five thousand reais) and certificate 3rd Place - R$ 3,000.00 (three thousand reais) and certificate.
Webjournalism
1st Place - R$ 7,000.00 (seven thousand reais) and certificate; 2nd Place - R$ 4,000.00 (four thousand reais) and certificate; 3rd Place - R$ 2,000.00 (two thousand reais) and certificate.
Radiojournalism
1st Place - R$ 4,000.00 (four thousand reais) and certificate; 2nd Place - R$ 3,000.00 (three thousand reais) and certificate; 3rd Place - R$ 2,000.00 (two thousand reais) and certificate.
Photojournalism
1st Place - R$ 3,000.00 (three thousand reais) and certificate; 2nd Place - R$ 2,000.00 (two thousand reais) and certificate; 3rd Place - R$ 1,500.00 (one thousand and five hundred reais) and certificate.
Print Journalismo
1st Place - R$ 3,000.00 (three thousand reais) and certificate; 2nd Place - R$ 2,000.00 (two thousand reais) and certificate; 3rd Place - R$ 1,500.00 (one thousand and five hundred reais) and certificate.
Academic
1st Place - R$ 2,000.00 (two thousand reais) and certificate; 2nd Place - R$ 1,500.00 (one thousand and five hundred reais) and certificate; 3rd Place - R$ 1,000.00 (one thousand reais) and certificate.
