During the ceremony to launch the new electronic portals of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins, the Superior School of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) launched, on the afternoon of Wednesday (25th), the Esmat Journalism Award 2023, which will grant R$ 55,5 thousand to reports that address actions in defense of building social justice, promoting human rights and improving judicial provision, within the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins. The Notice with all the information is expected to be published by the end of January 2023.

It will be divided into six categories (Telejournalism; Webjournalism; Radiojournalism; Photojournalism; Printed and Academic Journalism, the latter directed to Social Communication – Journalism students, as long as endorsed by the professor and teaching institution) with awards for the best work classified in first, second, and third places, respectively.

For Justice Marco Villas Boas, General Director of Esmat, the award is an initiative of the School to value the press professionals who contribute for publicizing the actions of the Judiciary that benefit society and bring issues of public interest to a broad discussion.

"As a society, we always want the truth to stand out in all cases, for both sides to be heard, and for society to be well-informed in the end. This means social pacification and democratic stability," he said.

According to the Award Organization, the announcement of the winners is scheduled for December 11th, 2023.
