At the opening of the second day of the Forum on Security and Human Development in Latin America and the Caribbean, which takes place in the auditorium of the PJBA headquarters in Salvador (BA), Judge Marco Villas Boas, president of the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of Magistracy (COPEDEM) and General Director of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT), awarded the Copedem Medal to the ambassador João Genésio de Almeida Filho, alternate representative of the Permanent Mission of Brazil to the United Nations, in New York, USA.
Accompanied by Judge Tereza Cristina Gaulia, from the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ), vice-president of Copedem, Judge Marco Villas Boas delivered the Medal, in honor of Judge Domingos Franciulli Neto for his relevant services rendered to the legal improvement. The awarding of the Medal is a result of the effort of the ambassador to bring the University of the Nations to Brazil. In his speech, the ambassador thanked Copedem for the homage. "It is with great honor and emotion that I receive this Medal, and I will do my best to do justice to the commendation granted me", he thanked.

The event is held by PJBA in partnership with the Latin American Permanent Committee for the Prevention of Crime (COPLAD) - a program of the United Nations Latin American Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (ILANUD) - and is supported by the Corporate University of the Judiciary of the State of Bahia (UNICORP) and the Regional Bank of Brasília (BRB), in addition to the institutional assistance from the Superior Court of Justice (STJ).
The initiative also includes multilateral planning for security, with a focus on science, technology, and innovation, creating opportunities for proactive performance in education, sports, economic growth, social mobility, and the well-being of people in the family and the community.
