XVIII International Congress On Human Rights Receives Expanded Abstract Submissions

The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), in partnership with the Federal University of the state of Tocantins (UFT) and through the Post-Graduation Program in Judicial Provision and Human Rights (PPGPJDH), published the Notice nº 487, of 2025, which regulates the selection of academic papers for panel presentations during the XVIII International Congress on Human Rights.

The event will be held on November 12th, 13th and 14th at the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO), in the city of Palmas, with the theme on "The Future of Human Rights in the Age of Artificial Intelligence".

The call aims to foster scientific production and promote the exchange of ideas among researchers, professors and students on contemporary human rights challenges, especially in view of the impacts of digital transformation.

Categories and target audience

The selection is divided into two categories:

Category I – Scientific Initiation: aimed at undergraduate students of any superior education institution, under the guidance of a professor.

Category II – Academic Research: aimed at graduate students (lato or stricto sensu), also with compulsory teaching guidance.

Guidelines for submission

Each proposal must contain an expanded abstract of up to five pages, in Word format (.doc or .docx), with the following structure:

  • Title
  • Name(s) of the author(s) and advisor(s)
  • Identification of the event
  • Summary
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Material and methods
  • Results and discussion
  • Conclusion
  • Bibliographical references

It is mandatory to send proof of registration updated, consisting of course, educational institution and current period.

Selection and presentation

The works will be evaluated by thematic committees and the three best of each axis will be selected for a panel presentation on November 12th, from 1 pm to 5:30 pm, in the main hall of the TJTO. At least one of the authors must be present to dialogue with the public and the evaluators.
