Professional master's degree in Judicial Provision and Human Rights begins classes in its 10th class and prepares to launch a doctoral degree still in 2023

The academic activities of the 10th class of the Professional Master in Judicial Provision and Human Rights (PPJDH) promoted by the Federal University of the State of Tocantins (UFT) in partnership with the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) began on Monday morning (6th). The Magna Class solemnity was attended by Justice Marco Marco Villas Boas, General Director of Esmat; Doctor Professor Eduardo Winter, coordinator of professional – interdisciplinary programs of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Level Personnel (CAPES); and the visits of Justice Cristóvão Suter, Director of the School of the Judges of the State of Roraima, and Felipe Diogo Jácome Queiroz, academic coordinator of that institution.

According to Doctor Professor Gustavo Paschoal, coordinator of the Master's program, this year the program will reach its 10th academic class, with the possibility of offering a selection process for the specific Doctorate in the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Judicial Provision and Human Rights.

"We have already submitted a proposal for a doctorate, and we are waiting for the return of Capes, which means that this year really promises a lot for all of us. I believe that it will be a very promising year, not for the master's degree itself, but for the program. We got the concept 4, and with this concept we can apply for the PhD Program, which has already been done in December 2022. We are just waiting for the information coming from Capes", he recalled.

For Justice Marco Villas Boas, General Director of Esmat, over the years, the PPJDH has broken academic boundaries.

"The Program is internationalized; we have relationships with several academies, from North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia, hence our responsibility around quality, which is why, of course, we are committed to research, to researchers, and especially to society," he said.

About the academic formation promoted by the access to the Stricto Sensu post-graduation course, the Justice highlighted the importance of the dialogue and the understanding in face of the diversity and the pluralism for the effectiveness of the Human Rights. "These are plural realities that everyone will experience in this course, so the first idea is that they enter the classroom without prejudice in relation to these rights, especially the new rights. It is obvious that, during the course, everyone will have their own interpretation and theories about human rights", he said.
