Esmat Professor presents challenges of Brazilian higher education, during pandemic, in international symposium

With a presentation that pointed out the situation of the global pandemic, the Brazilian conjuncture and the adaptations of institutions in the transmission of knowledge in Higher Education in the country, Professor George França, professor of the Graduate Program in Computational Modeling of Systems – developed by Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) in partnership with the School of Judges of Tocantins (ESMAT) – participated, this Tuesday (15th), in the international symposium “Impacto f Covid in the Education sector and similar activities – Contextual Analysis – before, during and prospects”.

The debate is part of the Cycles of three Symposia on Presential VS Semi-Presential and Distance Learning, carried out by a group of four private universities in the African country Angola, called the Association of Higher Education Institutions of Angola (AIESPA). One of the members is the Independent University of Angola (UnIA), which, in 2019, signed a technical cooperation partnership with Esmat.

In his speech, the doctor professor presented the challenges of Distance Learning during the global pandemic, to which universities and faculty had to adapt, in the face of the pandemic, to disseminate academic content, in addition to the social inequalities of internet access in Brazilian regions, their social and economic differences, and how all of these factors interfere with the arrival of content to Brazilian academics.
