He was a member of the Committee for the Reform of the Code of Criminal Procedure (2010). He served as Director of the journals: "Under Judice" (1998 - 2004) and "JUDGE" (2007-2012). Founding Director of the International Center for Human Rights at John Jay College. He taught at Yale University, where he was founding associate Director of the Orville H.
