On May 12th and 13th, the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) will hold the 1st Workshop on Data Protection in the Judiciary, aimed exclusively at magistrates and civil servers of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO).
The initiative aims to promote and disseminate the culture of personal data protection within the Judiciary through dialogues and activities that provide an overview of the entire data governance and regulation ecosystem, giving its participants the necessary experience to act as multipliers of this culture in their work environment.
On the first day, the content will be led by Carlos Nascimento, lawyer and general coordinator of Standardization at the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD), with modules on the foundations of the LGPD, the rights of data subjects, data processing agents, information security and the practical application of the law in the public sector.
On the second day, Douglas Chagas, a doctoral professor at the State University of the state of Tocantins (Unitins) and coordinator of Information Technology at the Ministry of Racial Equality (MIR), will address topics such as cybersecurity, regulatory challenges in the use of artificial intelligence and the drafting of data protection policies.
Coordinated by Justice Jacqueline Adorno de La Cruz Barbosa, the workshop has 40 places for strategic sectors of the judicial administration, such as the General Internal Affairs of Justice, the Directorate on Information Technology, the Management Committee on Data Protection, Governance, Communication and the Ombudsman's Office, among others.
