Forum That Will Be Held On Monday 17th To Discuss The Judicialization Of Healthcare

Scheduled for next Monday, February 17th, in the city of Palmas (TO), the event will discuss judicialization in the health area. Coordinated by the general chief of Justice of the state of Tocantins, Justice Pedro Nelson de Miranda Coutinho, the Forum on “Law and Health: a focus on the judicialization of health” will be held from 1.30pm, in the auditorium of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO).

Magistrates and civil servers from the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins, as well as external audiences such as prosecutors, defenders, attorneys and health managers interested in taking part can sign up clicking here.

The forum seeks to provide a space for discussion, reflection and critical analysis of the rulings of the Supreme Court on the Issues 1.234 and 6 of the General Repercussion, related to the supply of medicines, with the aim of promoting efficient action, guaranteeing access to health and balancing the responsibility of the state with the sustainability of the public health system.

VII Health Law Journey 

On April 24th and 25th, the National Council of Justice (CNJ) will hold the VII Health Law Journey in the city of Brasília (DF). The event is promoted by the National Forum of the Judiciary for Health (Fonajus) and it will bring together specialists, judges and representatives from various sectors of society to review and draw up statements that will help judges make decisions in lawsuits on the right to health.

With a focus on inter-institutional dialogue between the health system and the Judiciary, the day will address crucial issues of the judicialization of health in Brazil. The State and District Health Committees can submit up to 10 proposals, five for new rulings and five for revising rulings. The suggestions must be sent to the National Fonajus Committee by March 24th.

The approval of the enunciations will depend on the favorable vote of half plus one of the magistrates with voting rights present at the event.
