The Center for Judicial Studies of the Federal Justice Council (CEJ/ CJF) will promote the I Legal Journey on Prevention and Management of Environmental Crises on November 25th and 26th, at the headquarters of the Body in the city of Brasilia-DF. The event aims to promote debates among experts to outline interpretative positions on the prevention and management of environmental crises, in accordance with legislative, doctrinal and jurisprudential innovations.
Pre registrations
Pre-registrations for the general public are already open and they can be made until November 18th, by filling out an electronic form available on the official page of the event. Vacancies are limited, with priority for magistrates, members of the Public Prosecution, lawyers and specialists in the area.
Programming
The opening of the Journey is scheduled for 9:30 am on November 25th, followed by conferences focusing on the prevention and management of environmental crises. In the afternoon, activities will resume at 2pm, with the division of the participants in three thematic commissions, each chaired by a Minister of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ). The topics of the commissions are:
- Civil, Administrative and Criminal Responsibility in Deforestation and Burning in the Context of Climate Change (President: Minister Sebastião Reis Júnior);
- Civil, Administrative and Criminal Responsibility in Water Crises in the Context of Climate Change (President: Minister Moura Ribeiro);
- Judicial Management of Disputes and Structural Demands in the Context of Climate Change (President: Minister Sérgio Kukina).

The event will have a workload of 12 class hours and it will be held in person, at the headquarters of CJF in the city of Brasilia. Three hundred vacancies are offered, and the target audience includes magistrates, members of the Public Prosecution, Union Lawyers, Prosecutors, Public Defenders and invited experts.
