Ancestral future

In this collection of texts produced between 2020 and 2021, Ailton Krenak challenges us to rethink our vision of the future. He suggests that if there is a future to be considered, it is ancestral, because it was already there. Krenak invites us to abandon illusions and value what is around us, highlighting the importance of rivers and other natural elements.

Ideas for postponing the end of the world

Ailton Krenak, born in the “Doce” River Valley region, criticizes the separation between humanity and nature. He argues that the idea of a “superior humanity” is at the root of the contemporary socio-environmental disaster. Krenak defends the recognition of diversity and the rejection of the idea of human superiority as ways of reframing our existences and avoiding environmental destruction.
