District Of Colinas Receives Esmat Lecture On The Importance Of Mental Health And Self-Care

The civil servers, magistrates, trainees and employees of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins, assigned to the district of Colinas do Tocantins, took part in a lecture on "Work and Mental Health" on Thursday (June 20th). Given by the Doctor and Psychiatrist Wordney Carvalho Camarço, the activity highlighted pleasure at work and the importance of self-care for preserving health.

According to Wordney, if a civil server "dedicates himself excessively to work, it's not a question of whether or not he will get sick, it's a question of time. Work is part of our identity and it has to be something that makes a positive contribution to our health". Wordney emphasized that "mental fatigue is very different from physical fatigue and it doesn't get better with a rest of a week".

The incidence of psychiatric illness in the public service, which is currently the main cause of absence from work, was also addressed during the lecture. According to Wordney, "the court of the State of Tocantins has been waking up to this, NAPsi was created to work on prevention and health promotion. And what we've been doing here is providing clarification to civil servers and magistrates about the importance of preserving themselves in the workplace."

Psychologist Bárbara Khristine Alvares de Moura Carvalho Camargo, head of the Medical Board of the Judiciary and a member of the NAPsi, highlighted the encouragement of the direction in carrying out the activities.

"Justice Etelvina, President of the Court of Justice, and the Health Management Committee, chaired by Justice Pedro Nelson, have shown concern and offered full support to the NAPsi team and to the actions, programs and projects aimed at preventing psychosocial illnesses among Judges and civil servers of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins," she said.

Social worker of the NAPsi, Silvaneide Maria Tavares, commented on the active participation of magistrates and civil servers during the event. "It's gratifying to see the mobilization of all the magistrates in the district and the full participation of the civil servers during the lecture. This support is very important so that we can act to prevent psychosocial illnesses," she said.

The lecture on Work and Mental Health is crucial at a time when awareness of the impact of the work environment on mental health is growing. Living in an age where stress and pressure at work are increasingly common, it becomes essential to address this issue in an open and informative way. With this in mind, the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), in partnership with the Psychosocial Reception and Support Center (NAPsi), developed the event with the aim of promoting dialogue and collective listening between magistrates and civil servers in this district, fostering reflections on the need for self-care in mental health.
