As a way of encouraging and recognizing the work done, as well as the commitment shown while carrying out activities in the Judicial Centers for Conflict Resolution and Citizenship (Cejuscs), the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins awarded 11 accredited conciliators and mediators (see list below) for their work in promoting and developing the National Judicial Policy for the Adequate Treatment of Conflicts.

The announcement of the winners of the "Conciliation Award 2024" was made on Friday afternoon (April 5th), during the closing ceremony of the VII Seminar on Public Policies for the Adequate Treatment of Conflicts and the 8th Meeting of the Judicial Centers for Conflict Resolution, in the auditorium of the Court of Justice.

Thaysa Almeida Arruda, a conciliator and mediator who has been accredited at the Cejusc of the District of Miracema for four years, was the big winner in the category of more than 1,000 hearings with successful agreements, with a rate of 22.19%. "I'm very grateful for the opportunity the Judiciary has given me in conciliation. I always believe in resolving conflicts amicably, because trying to resolve them through conciliation, between the two parties, will always lead to a better solution," she said, revealing the secret to successful settlements:

I try to listen a lot to what the parties want in the process, I always give them the opportunity to speak and leave them free to decide.

Beatriz Rodrigues Velloso Brandão, an accredited conciliator and mediator at the Cejusc of the District of Palmas, came in second place, with a rate of 17.23% of hearings with successful agreements, and says she was a little surprised by the result, because the Cejusc of the city of Palmas has the highest number of demands. "I thank Cejusc and Nupemec for the opportunity. I've been at Cejusc since 2018 and from the beginning I've always admired the peaceful resolution of conflicts," she emphasized.

We work with non-violent communication, we prepare, we train... so it's gratifying to see the return on all this.

The "Conciliation Award" is promoted by the Permanent Center for Consensual Methods of Conflict Resolution (Nupemec), in recognition of the accredited professionals who stood out and presented the best results with successful settlement hearings during the year of 2023.
