The necessary adoption is debated in an event held by the general justice affairs office and Esmat

With the proposal of raising everyone’s awareness about late adoption and to encourage the A.DOT system, which enables children, teenagers and families to meet more quickly and effectively in the adoption process, the General Justice Affairs Office of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins, in partnership with the Superior School of Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) held on Tuesday (28th), the II WEBINAR on “Adoption: ageless Love”, with the NECESSARY ADOPTION theme.

During the opening, Justice Etelvina Maria Sampaio Felipe, Chief of Justice, presented data that shows the situation of the adoption system in Brazil, “data collected in the National System of Adoption and Fostering show that today, in Brazil, there are 29.730 children and teenagers in institutional foster care services. From this total, 4.158 are ready for adoption and 32.838 applicants are available to adopt, she highlighted.

“Given this challenge scenario, it is essential to sensitize and raise awareness among the applicants for the adoption of sibling groups or children and adolescents with special health conditions. We also need to give visibility to these children and teenagers, to increase the possibilities or forming new families”, explained the Justice.

In the occasion, Judge Adriano Gomes de Melo Oliveira, State coordinator for Childhood and Youth of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins, congratulated Esmat for the work and reinforced the importance of the event, “it is a very hard theme that we work day by day. Fortunately, in this biennium, I have noticed the commitment of the General Justice Affairs Office and the commitment of Esmat, which provides us with several opportunities like this one to discuss issues such as the necessary adoption. So special for our children and teenagers, especially those who do not compose the profile that is most sought by the national adoption service”, he added.

The programming of the event included the presence of Judge Sérgio Luiz Ribeiro de Souza, holder of the 4th Court of Childhood, Youth and the Elderly of the city of Rio de Janeiro, who debated on the challenges in necessary adoptions.

In a touching presentation, Judge Hélvia Túlia Sandes Pedreira, from the Family and Successions, Childhood and Youth Court of the Court of the State of Tocantins, commented on Necessary Adoption through the perspective of those who work in the area. The event ended with the touching testimonials of Prycilla Maria Eleutério de Oliveira and Angélica Mourão Seabra.

A.DOT application

According to Justice Etelvina Maria Sampaio Felipe, “all qualified applicants can have access to the application, just download the APP on your cell phone or TABLET and register. Data is cross-referenced with the National System of Adoption and Fostering (SNA) and certified by the General Justice Affairs Office, ensuring that only the applicants included in the SNA have access to photos and vídeos of the children available in the tool for adoption”, she explained.

The A.DOT application connects children and teenagers who are eligible for adoption with the applicants qualified in the National Adoption Registry, willing to transform their stories, and aims to enable children and teenagers who do not fit the profile most sought by applicants to be seen and known by those who seek and want to realize the dream of adoption.
