The third day of debates at the challenges and impacts of sustainability in the digital age seminar looks at the current situation and points attitudes for the future

The discussions about the advances of the metaverse, still little known, as well as the actions of the virtual universe on increased reality and virtual reality, waste management as a way of income generation were the topics addressed on the last day of the Challenges and Impacts of Sustainability in the Digital Age Seminar. On the agenda, environment, judiciary, people, and technology were discussed in the light of ethical principles of responsibility, privacy, and individuality, even before any technological advances.

Among the discussions, topics such as reverse logistics, preservation of ecosystems, and the technology implemented in solid waste management were discussed in relation to the natural inputs used in the day to day maintenance of essential services. In the occasion, Justices and other authorities received the commendations of the last discussion stage of the Seminar.

For Justice Marco Villas Boas, president of Copedem, the resumption of face-to-face discussions, as well as the hybrid modality of participations, reflect the new paradigm of the judiciary's actions. "We all know that the human capital of organizations has always suffered changes; however, these changes have been more expressive and comprehensive in the last two years, impacted by the pandemic. What led to reflections on the need to improve human capital, necessarily to think about technology and innovation, investment in the qualification of employees in technology and innovation has become a strategic need and priority for companies and institutions that want not only to survive the current crisis, but also to come out stronger and contribute to better times and better people for our country," he concluded.

Promoted by the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy (COPEDEM) in partnership with the National School of Magistracy (ENM) and the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT), the event takes place in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in a hybrid manner, in person and distance learning, through Copedem's page on Youtube.
