The General Law of Data Protection (LGPD) is the reflection of a highly connected society, in which personal data has become extremely valuable to companies and the government. The entry into force of this law brings a set of rights for the holders of personal data that must be observed by companies, through obligations imposed by the law, and will have among its main challenges the mission of making society, judges and civil servers aware that "personal data" is a valuable asset that must be protected, under penalty of bringing harm to the individual if it is used improperly and for purposes other than those consented to by the holder.
