The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), in partnership with the Commission for Preventing and Confronting Moral and Sexual Harassment and Discrimination in the 2nd Degree (Cassegio2G), began the course on “Preventing and confronting harassment and discrimination in the workplace” on Monday (June 23rd), aimed at magistrates and civil servers in the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins.
The aim of the course is to raise awareness and train leaders and other participants in preventing harassment in the workplace and dealing with the challenges of mental health in everyday life, based on well-founded knowledge and practices.
The training is coordinated by Justice Ângela Issa Haonat, who stressed the importance of the initiative in strengthening healthier and more humanized work environments within the Judiciary.
“It's not just a technical course, it's also an invitation to listening and self-care. It's a space for welcoming and mutual learning that recognizes the challenges of mental health and interpersonal relationships in institutions. Our commitment is to transform the organizational culture, not just change isolated behaviors," she said.
The web class was led by Professor Rosane Teresinha Carvalho Porto, who holds a PhD in Law from the University of the city of Santa Cruz do Sul (Unisc/RS), and covered introductory concepts about the world of work and human rights, homogeneous and emerging masculinities, and Sexual-Racial Labor Law, among other topics.
The 9-hour course will run until June 25th and it will discuss topics such as Defining Public Policies for Gender and Race Equality, Implementing Inclusion Policies in the Judicial System and Discrimination in the Workplace and Public Institutions.
