
On Thursday morning (June 12th), the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) started the course on “Blockchain and Cryptoassets: Introductory and Practical Aspects”, aimed at judges, civil servers from the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins and external audiences linked to the Justice system.
Present at the opening, Justice Ângela Issa Haonat, the course coordinator, welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of the training.
“I would like to highlight the importance of this topic, which requires reconnecting technological innovations with Civil Law and Civil Procedural Law, central areas in the routine of most of us here. I hope that this course provides new learning and that everyone leaves here satisfied and enriched with this knowledge," she said.
The 16-hour course aims to enable participants to understand the fundamentals of blockchain technology and cryptoassets, exploring their legal and regulatory implications and their practical use in Law and conflict resolution.
Taught by Professors Flavia Valeria Nava Silva and Vinicius de Negreiros Calado, the first day of activities covered introductory topics such as “Digital Transformation and Disruptive Technologies”, “Blockchain and Cryptoassets” and “Smart Contracts and Obligational Law”.
