Esmat Will Hold Course On Drafting Civil And Special Court Judgments

On August 21st and 22nd, the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) will hold a course on drafting civil and special court judgments, aimed at advisors to magistrates in the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins.

With a 16-hour class load and held in person, the training aims to train participants in drafting civil judgments and judgments in the Special Civil Court. The activities emphasize the analysis and understanding of facts, the evaluation of oral evidence and the construction of legal reasoning, guaranteeing reasoned, swift decisions in line with the principles of the due legal process.

The 50 places available will be filled by means of nomination in a specific SEI process, based on suggestions from the Support Center for the Courts and from the Courts of the State of Tocantins themselves.

Under the coordination of Judge Wellington Magalhães, the course will be taught by Professor Tiago Gagliano Pinto Alberto, who holds a post-doctorate in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of the state of Paraná (PUCPR). Among the topics covered are “Foundations and Structuring of the Civil Judgment”, “Analysis and Understanding of the Facts in the Civil Process and in the JEC”, “Appreciation of Oral Evidence and Construction of Judicial Conviction”, as well as a practical workshop on Writing Civil Judgments and in the JEC.
