The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) is open for registrations until April 8th for the course on “Humanizing Care for LGBTQIAPN+ People: Challenges for the Judiciary”. The training will take place between April 25th and May 19th, virtually, and it aims to qualify judges and civil servers of the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins to offer a more humanized, inclusive and sensitive service to the specificities of the LGBTQIAPN+ population.
The course is coordinated by Judge Rosa Maria Rodrigues Gazire Rossi and it has fifty places, ten for judges and forty for civil servers. If the places for judges are not filled, they can be allocated to civil servers.
Interested parties can sign up by clicking here.
Why is the course essential?
Humanized service in the judiciary is fundamental to guarantee equal access to justice, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. However, challenges persist, such as institutional barriers, lack of adequate reception and, in some cases, direct or indirect discrimination. In this way, the training aims to enable professionals to provide a respectful, inclusive service in line with human rights principles.
