
On Monday (March 10th), the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) began facilitating reflective groups for men who have committed violence against women. The training was opened by Judge Cirlene Maria de Assis Santos Oliveira, coordinator of the activity, who highlighted the importance of inter sectoral work and the qualification of professionals who work to combat gender violence
The course is aimed at professionals in the fields of Psychology, Social Work and Pedagogy who are accredited by the Multidisciplinary Team Management Group (GGEM) and who work on cases related to victims of domestic violence.
With 70 class hours, the aim of the training is to enable participants to work with Reflective Groups for Men who Commit Violence (GHAV), using methodologies based on national and international normative marks, studies on masculinities and gender violence, as well as reflective approaches that enable the construction of new perspectives on social relations.
The training is structured in theoretical modules and practical workshops and it will be taught by professors Adriano Beiras, Ricardo Bortoli, Cleide Gessele and Camila Maffioleti Cavaler. Activities continue until April 25th.
