Law 14.181/2021 brought changes to the Consumer Protection Code (CDC) to improve the discipline of consumer credit and analyze the issue of prevention and treatment of over-indebtedness. In order to address the issue with members of the judiciary, the National School for the Training and Improvement of Magistrates (Enfam) will be holding the second edition of continuing education on Consumer Credit and Indebtedness. Registrations are open until October 14th - visit the registration page.
The course is being held in partnership with a working group set up by the National Council of Justice (CNJ) which has the task of improving administrative flows and procedures in order to facilitate the processing of cases involving over-indebted people. The target audience is members of the federal and state judiciary.
The training is offered in Distance Education mode, with a synchronous meeting at the end. The presentation is given by Marco Buzzi, a Minister of the Superior Court of Justice.
The content was divided into two modules, with information presented by Cláudia Lima Marques, a Professor at the Federal University of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), and Clarissa Costa de Lima and Karen Rick Danilevicz Bertoncello, magistrates at the Court of Justice of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (TJRS). The first module refers to over-indebtedness and the second brings reflections on the treatment of indebtedness in the CDC: cooperation in ruin and judicial intervention.
