Esmat begins Basic course of Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) 2021 - Class I

Classes of Class I of the Basic Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) 2021 course started this Tuesday (August 17th). The activities are being developed via Esmat's Virtual Learning Environment and Google Meet Platform.

Promoted by the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins, the course is held in the distance learning modality, with 60 class hours. Its objective is to qualify male and female employees, magistrates and trainees as to the use of the Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS), developing communication skills for the deaf, providing the participants with discussions about the specificities of sign languages, reflections about the deaf difference, in order to reduce social exclusion, discrimination and misinformation caused by the cultural linguistic barrier.

40 vacancies were made available for the first group, with the target public being magistrates, male and female Judges, male and female employees, trainees and interns from the Judiciary in the State of Tocantins.

For class I, the mandatory live webclasses take place on August 17th, 24th, and 31st; September 14th, 21st, and 28th; and October 8th and 15th from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. 

For class II, the mandatory live webclasses take place on August 19th and 26th; September 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th; and October 7th from 9am to 11:30am.
