Judiciary Resumes Face-To-Face Service This Wednesday (January 7th) Throughout The State

The forensic recess of the Judiciary has come to an end and the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins resumes face-to-face service to the public on Wednesday (January 7th).  Although the internal procedures and the service to the citizen are again functioning, the counting of procedural deadlines, which is the legal time for the parties to carry out activities within a process, remains suspended until January 20th

This measure follows what the Code of Civil Procedure and the Code of Criminal Procedure determine to guarantee the period of rest of the Law. During this time of suspension of procedural deadlines, no hearings or trial sessions of common cases will be held, but the Justice does not stop altogether.

There are exceptions to ensure fundamental rights and public safety. The activities and procedural motions are still valid normally for cases involving accused arrested ones; processes governed by the Maria da Penha Law (domestic violence) and measures considered urgent, which require an immediate decision of judge or justice to avoid loss of rights or serious damages.

The doors will be open from 12 to 6 pm at the Court of Justice, in the General Internal Affairs of Justice (CGJUS), in the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), in the Ombudsman and in all the 136 districts of the State.
