International Congress On Human Rights Starts This Tuesday (November 11th) And Already Gathers More Than 900 Registrants

The XVIII International Congress on Human Rights begins this Tuesday, November 11th, with the holding of face-to-face mini-courses. The event is promoted by the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins  (Esmat), in partnership with the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO), with the Federal University of the state of Tocantins (UFT) and with the Professional Master’s Program in Judicial Provision and Human Rights (PPGPJDH).

The event, which already has more than 900 registrants, continues until Friday, November 14th, offering a total workload of 23 class hours.

To ensure that all the participants take advantage of the event, it is essential to understand the participation logistics, which differ between the registered of the city of Palmas and of other locations, as well as the division of places.

In person (city of Palmas) vs. Transmission (Other cities)

The Congress was structured in two modalities of participation. The registrants resident in the city of Palmas must participate exclusively face-to-face in the auditorium of the TJTO and they will not have access to the ONLINE transmission LINK.

The ONLINE transmission is intended only for the participants of the interior regions of the state of Tocantins and other regions of Brazil. For this public, access will be released from the official opening of the event, on November 12th, at 5:30 pm, by the Virtual Academic Secretariat (SAV) of Esmat.

Locations

It is important to note the difference of locations. The activities of November 11th and 12th, regarding the mini-courses (which take place from 9am to 12pm), will be held at the headquarters of Esmat  (with the exception of the international mini-course on Artificial Intelligence, Penal System and Human Rights, with Professor Doctor Zhao Shuhong, which takes place in the auditorium of the TJTO on the 12th). These mini-course activities will not be broadcast.

The rest of the programming, including conferences, panels and presentations of papers, will take place entirely in the TJTO, where the participants from the city of Palmas must attend.

Instructions of access to (Online PUBLIC)

Participants from outside the city of Palmas who will follow the transmission must access the Virtual Academic Secretariat (SAV). If it is the first access, the LOGIN is the CPF (with dots and traces) and the standard password is @esmat.

In case the password has been forgotten, the contact for reset is the Technology Supervision team of Esmat, by extensions 3142-2448/2449 or by WhatsApp (63) 9216-8770.

To confirm the registration or check which mini-course was chosen, just go to the "Proof of Registration" area available in SAV itself.

Guidelines fOR Presentation Of Banners

The presentations of papers (panels) will take place on November 13th. Esmat will provide the support (panels) for the fixation, but the BANNERS themselves must be made and brought by the researchers.

The fixing must take place at least 30 minutes in advance: Group 1 should post the work until 8:30 am, and Group 2, between 12 and 2 pm. The presence of at least one author during the evaluation period is mandatory to answer the questions.

Only the papers actually presented and evaluated on the 13th will be published in the proceedings of the event. The complete list of approved papers can be consulted clicking here.

  • I signed up for a mini-course on the 12th. Do I need to go on the 11th? No. The frequency is computed only on the day and time of the chosen mini-course, with reading of the CPF on site.
  • Is the event paid? No. Participation is free and open to the public.
  • Do I need to sign up for each day? No. The single registration already includes participation in all activities.
  • I am not from the area of Law. Can I participate? Yes! The Congress is interdisciplinary and addressed to all interested in the topics covered.
