Child adultization - a phenomenon that exposes children to the responsibilities, behaviors and contents of the adult world before their time - was the theme of the episode of September of the EsmatCast, the podcast of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat).
To discuss the topic, the episode has the participation of Judge Adriano Gomes Melo, holder of the Court of Childhood and Youth of the city of Palmas, and Psychologist Arlene Antunes, member of the Psychosocial Support and Monitoring Center of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (NAPsi/ TJTO).
During the conversation, experts address the psychological effects of early adultization, the legal risks involved and the challenges faced by the Justice System and families in child protection.
The guests also discussed the role of social networks in the intensification of adultization, the boundaries between exposure and violation of rights and how the construction of a network of protection among the Judiciary, family, school and society can prevent harm.
During the episode, Judge Adriano also highlighted the performance of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO) in concrete actions aimed at child protection, citing as an example the participation in the project on "TCE (Court of Auditors of the State of Tocantins) with an Eye on the Future - Alliance for Early Childhood". In addition to the hearings, the TJTO also offered actions such as the "Present Father" project, training workshops, issuance of certificates and free legal assistance to the population of the district of Miracema do Tocantins, a municipality that hosted the first meeting of the alliance in August.
