TJTO Launches Panel On Collective Action For Public Consultation

On Friday (June 27th), the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO) launched the Panel on Collective Actions, a new digital tool that allows public consultation of collective proceedings in progress in the State.

Available on the website of the TJTO, the platform offers simple navigation and transparent access to procedural information. The resource is accessible to magistrates, civil servers, lawyers, public defenders, members of the State Prosecution and citizens interested in monitoring lawsuits of this nature.

During the launch, which took place during the 1st State Meeting on Precedents and Collective Actions, Justice Adolfo Amaro Mendes, president of the Management Center on Precedents and Collective Actions (NUGEPAC/TJTO), stressed that the platform represents a significant advance in the modernization of the state Judiciary.

“This is an intelligence tool from the Court of Justice, developed by the Nugepac team in partnership with the Directorate of Information Technology. It's another tool for citizens, which can speed up the provision of justice, curb repetitive demands and the abuse of the right to petition," he said.

With the Panel, it is possible to carry out detailed searches by year of distribution or judgment, type of action, parties involved and subject matter. In addition to facilitate the work of members, civil servers and legal operators, the initiative increases transparency and strengthens social control.

Collective actions are legal instruments that seek to jointly resolve issues affecting groups of people with common interests such as consumers, communities impacted by environmental damage, users of public services or victims of abusive practices.
