The National Council of Justice (CNJ) holds, from June 11th to July 25th, a national training aimed at the application of the new methodology of judicial inspections in environments of deprivation of liberty and the use of the new version of the National Register of Inspections in Penal Institutions (CNIEP). The training will be held ONLINE, with live classes by the Zoom platform and certificate issuance.
The initiative is intended for judges and assessors with competence to act in judicial inspections in units of deprivation of liberty.
The programming is divided into two complementary stages, with separate registrations for each phase. The first stage, dedicated to the new methodology of inspections, will be held from June 11th to July 11th. The second, focused on training for use of the CNIEP, will take place from July 16th to 25th. In both periods, there will be classes with translation in Libras.
In addition, two exclusive meetings are planned with the Monitoring and Supervision Groups (GMFs) of the Courts of Justice and Federal Regional Courts, by specific call. The action integrates the implementation strategy of the Resolution 593 of 2021 of the CNJ, which establishes updated guidelines for judicial inspections in criminal establishments, promoting advances in data collection, analysis and monitoring on custody conditions in the country.
The training is also part of the Fair Penalty plan, developed by the CNJ in partnership with the National Secretariat for Criminal Policies (Senappen), and it constitutes the set of actions of the Making Justice program, running in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
