Registrations For Community Marriage In The City Of Palmas Begins This Monday (May 26th)

Couples from the city of Palmas who dream of making their union official can now get organized. The Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO) opens registrations for the Community Wedding on Monday (May 26th). Those interested must go in person to the headquarters of the Palmas Forum, in the room of the Judicial Center for Consensual Conflict Resolution (Cejusc), from 12 noon to 6 pm, until May 30th.

This will be the first edition of the Community Wedding in the capital, an initiative carried out by the Permanent Center for Consensual Methods of Conflict Resolution (Nupemec) and Cejusc Palmas, under the coordination of Judge Silvana Maria Parfieniuk.

A total of 100 places will be on offer. Participating couples will have their registry fees waived. The project focuses on social inclusion and the promotion of citizenship, facilitating the regularization of civil marriages for people on low incomes.

The official Community Marriage ceremony is scheduled for July 4th and 5th.

The initiative has the support of the General Internal Affairs of Justice (CGJUS), through the Citizenship Coordination Office (Cocid), as well as the partnership of the Civil Registry Office. The project complies with the guidelines of the Resolutions No. 125 of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), 2010, and No. 1 of the TJTO, 2020, which deal with judicial policies for consensual conflict resolution.
