On January 24th, at 10 a.m., the National Council of Justice (CNJ) will promote an important action aimed at promoting educational practices with a focus on the re socialization of prisoners, at the Penal Unit of the city of Palmas. The event is part of the Literary Minds project, which is being carried out in several courts across the country.
The program, which will be attended by the advisor of the CNJ José Edivaldo Rocha Rotondano, includes a literary workshop and the launch of a book written by the inmates themselves, as well as a reading circle, providing a moment for exchanging experiences and learning.
The presence of authorities from the justice system at the event underscores the importance and commitment of the institutions involved in the cause of re socialization and education of inmates. This event represents another significant step in the construction of a prison system that is more humanized and aimed at social reintegration.
The Literary Minds project came about as a result of the Resolution 391/2021 of the CNJ, which encourages sentence remission through reading as a social educational practice in the prison system. Through this project, the Judiciary reaffirms its commitment to the rehabilitation and social reintegration of inmates, using education as an essential tool for personal and social transformation. By implementing these practices, the aim is not only to develop inmates intellectually, but also to promote human values and strengthen their self-esteem.
