On November 18th and 19th, the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) received a visit from the State Education Council of Tocantins (CEE/TO) to carry out its institutional evaluation. The initiative is part of the institutional re-accreditation process, as determined by the Resolution 143 of the CEE/TO of 2022, which seeks to ensure the quality of institutions and superior education courses, promoting equal access conditions and pedagogical pluralism.
During the assessment, aspects such as the Institutional Development Plan (PDI), infrastructure, teaching staff and compliance with current educational standards were analyzed. The inspection was carried out through the Superior Education Assessment System, using technical indicators and face-to-face visits. Among the items assessed were the accessibility of facilities, the adequacy of libraries and laboratories to meet academic needs and the level of technological updating of the institution.

Justice Marco Villas Boas, General Director of Esmat, stressed the importance of this process in strengthening the school as a benchmark in legal education.
“The evaluation carried out by the State Education Council is an indispensable stage in the consolidation of Esmat as a benchmark in the training of Judges and judicial staff. This process not only validates the quality of the work we have been doing, but also guides us in our search for continuous improvement. We are committed to ensure excellent training, in line with the demands of the superior education system and the needs of an increasingly modern, inclusive and efficient judiciary,” said the Justice.
During the visit, staff from the Postgraduate Center presented the physical and pedagogical structure, as well as the expansion plans for next year. Maria Luiza Nascimento, Coordinator of the Center, highlighted the importance of the re-accreditation process for maintaining the quality of education offered by Esmat.

“I consider the whole accreditation process to be one of the most important for guaranteeing the quality of education. The visit of the CEE/TO to Esmat enabled us to show the progress of the school over the last five years, as much as structurally, academically and pedagogically,” she said.
At the end of the evaluation, Ms. Markes Cristiana Oliveira dos Santos, President of the CEE/TO, highlighted the welcoming environment and the policies of appreciation implemented by Esmat. “We had a wonderful experience, and I would like to share this with the other administrators here. In the places we visited, in general, we noticed an incredible welcome, a mutual care among people. We observed the policy of professional appreciation and care for the civil server. That makes all the difference,” she said.
The evaluation committee was made up of: Markes Cristiana Oliveira dos Santos, José Fernando Bezerra Miranda, Maria da Conceição de Jesus Ranke and Carolina Joly Moreira.
