In the ordinary administrative and face-to-face session of the Full Court of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins, held on the afternoon of Thursday (October 3rd), Justice Marco Villas Boas was re-elected, with unanimous votes, to the position of General Director of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) for the biennium 2025-2027. For the Presidency of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO), was elected, also unanimously, Justice Maysa Vendramini Rosal; and for the position of General Chief of Justice, Judge Pedro Nelson de Miranda Coutinho.
In his management, Justice Marco Villas Boas is responsible for the implementation of actions aimed at the introduction of Generative Artificial Intelligence in the judiciary, through the course on "PROMPT Engineering and Practical Applications of Generative AI (IAGEN) in Justice". The initiative aims to train magistrates and servers in the use of AI to optimize decision-making processes, bringing more agility and accuracy in legal analysis. In addition, the recent authorization for the creation of an interinstitutional doctorate in Judicial Provision and Human Rights and the publication of Esmat Journal, academic journal QUALIS B1, reaffirm the commitment of Esmat on leading cutting-edge legal training, Training professionals to face the contemporary challenges of justice.

Also among its main achievements is the implementation, in partnership with the Federal University of the State of Tocantins (UFT), of the first Professional Master’s Degree in Brazil in Judicial Provision and Human Rights, aimed at improving magistrates and servers. In addition, the implementation of the ISO 9001 Quality System at the institution ensured that Esmat remained a reference in standards of excellence.
In addition, Esmat maintains STRICTO SENSU PhD programs in partnership with the Pontifical Catholic University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and the University Center of the city of Brasilia (UniCEUB), with the third interinstitutional doctorate, reinforcing the commitment to high-level legal education. The Justice also established strategic partnerships with renowned international institutions, such as the College of Law of the University of Coimbra and the Brazilian Law Institute of the University of Lisbon, strengthening academic cooperation and expanding the scope of the activities of Esmat in an international context.

For the 2025-2027 biennium, Maysa Vendramini Rosal was elected as President; Jacqueline Adorno de La Cruz Barbosa was elected as vice President; and Pedro Nelson de Miranda Coutinho was elected as Chief Justice. Esmat congratulates the Justices for the election and wishes a new management focused on strengthening academic activities aimed at promoting the improvement of judicial provision and the appreciation and promotion of Human Rights.
