On December 14th, 1990, the United Nations General Assembly designated October 1st as the International Day of Older People. In view of the date, the Superior Court of Justice released the issue no. 244 of Jurisprudence in Thesis, a publication that deals with the rights of people in this group.
In all, 17 theses were included, with updated research covering legal materials already published on the subject, such as judgments, precedents, monocratic decisions, as well as newsletters and other products. The opinions were taken from judgments published up to September 6th of this year.
Among the topics covered are the creation of exceptional long-term care institutions by the State that can take in elderly people in situations of hyper vulnerability, the liability of financial institutions for failure to provide banking services to this group and, also, adjustments to the monthly fee of individual or family health insurance plans due to changes in the age group of the beneficiary.
Previous editions of Jurisprudence in Thesis have covered subjects such as Inheritance Law, Traffic Legislation and Rights Relating to Diversity.
