The School of the Judges of the Association of the Judges of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Ajuris) will be selecting scientific papers by undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as professionals for the 3rd edition of the Eladio Lecey Sustainability Award. The aim is to identify and disseminate scientific production, encourage debate and contribute to the implementation of a culture of sustainability in the legal environment.
Registrations are now open and they must be made exclusively using the electronic form available on the Ajuris website, until 5pm on October 4th. There are three categories in all, depending on the level of training, and the registrations can be individual or collective. The texts must address issues relating to sustainable development, from an environmental, economic and/or social perspective.
The first place winner in each category will receive R$3,000 and a full scholarship to the “Aprovajuris” distance learning course, while the second and third place winners will receive a 50% discount on the same qualification. The scholarships are valid for two years after graduation, if applicable.

Reference in the training of judges in brazil
Eladio Lecey was a national reference in the professional development of the judiciary. One of his achievements in the field of training magistrates was chairing the Scientific and Pedagogical Development Commission of the National School for the Training and Improvement of Magistrates (Enfam).
Lecey provided important services to judicial schools in Brazil, having been Director and Professor at the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, among other institutions. As for his academic background, he graduated in law from the University of the city of Caxias do Sul and specialized in criminal sciences at the Federal University of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. He was also a lecturer and author of several articles.
