Simple Language Is Featured In The Esmatcast

In the episode of August of the ESMATCast, Kézia Reis, Director of the Communication Center at the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO); Adelyse Lopes, coordinator of the Simple Language program at the Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories (TJDFT); and Roberta Maciel, comanager of the SimpleTOC program, talked about the importance of simple language in the legal context.

The discussion addressed the challenges related to the use of technical vocabulary, which often compromises effective communication with the public and consequently hinders access to justice. The interviewees emphasized that the adoption of an accessible language is crucial to sensitize and empower both legal professionals and citizens.

The simplification of communication is proposed as a means to promote greater inclusion and understanding of legal processes, bringing benefits to all involved in the justice system. The episode is available on the YouTube channel of Esmat and it offers a valuable opportunity for reflection and learning for legal professionals and the general public.
