Check It Out: Esmat Facilitates Access To Doctrine, Case Law And Legislation With Virtual Libraries

Access to quality research facilities is essential for students and researchers. Having complete collections, documents, books and a vast bibliography available is fundamental to the work carried out in the judiciary. An excellent solution for those seeking easy access to doctrinal materials, case law and federal, state and municipal legislation are virtual libraries.

The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), in its mission to train and improve Judges and civil servers, offers access to three virtual libraries. One of them is the ONLINE Courts Journal Research Platform.

What can be found on the platform?

  • Doctrine: Doctrinal articles: Collection of articles published in the journals of the Journal Editor of the Courts. Periodicals: Journals in circulation and published since January of 1986 (Vol. 603). Specialized Journals: Available since Vol. 1, following the original order.
  • Case law: Selection of Courts: Selected case law from all the courts, with the full content of the judgments. Federal, State and Municipal Legislation. Federal Legislation: Comprehensive base of legislation. Tax Legislation: Tax regulations of the 27 States of Brazil and 42 municipalities.
  • Essential Doctrines Collection: Historical Articles: Selection of the best doctrinal articles by area of law, published by Journal Editor of the Courts.
  • Practical Solutions and Opinions Collection: Opinions by Renowned Jurists: Selection of opinions on complex issues by authors such as Arruda Alvim, Clèmerson Merlin Clève, Luiz Edson Fachin, among others.
  • Precedents: Base of Precedents: Published by the courts, including jurisprudential guidelines and normative precedents of the TST.

Access and registration 

The platform is part of the library of Esmat, and access via the Intranet is restricted to Judges, civil servers, interns and students on the postgraduate courses of the school.

In addition to this platform, Esmat offers two other databases (My Library and RT Books) made up of digital books, accessible via LOGIN and password. To register, interested parties should contact the Library.
