Registrations Are Open For The First Edition Of The National Magistracy Exam (Enam)

Registrations are now open for the first edition of the National Magistracy Exam (ENAM), a selection process that qualifies people interested in applying for judgeships promoted by regional courts, labor courts, military courts and courts of the States and the Federal District and territories. The deadline for applications is March 7th and the exam will take place on April 14th in all Brazilian capitals. Visit the registration page.

The competition is regulated and organized by the National School for the Training and Improvement of Magistrates (Enfam).  National Council of Justice (CNJ) Resolution No. 531, of November 14th, 2023, established the Exam and its guidelines.

ENAM seeks to ensure that selection processes for the judiciary take place in a way that values reasoning, problem-solving and vocation for the career. With an eliminatory and non-ranking nature, it seeks to contribute to the democratization of access to the judiciary, making it more diverse and representative.

According to the General Director of Enfam, Minister Mauro Campbell Marques, the exam encourages a little more vocation in accessing the judiciary, considering that Judges are not ordinary civil servers. "People can't look for the magistracy as a public service career. This activity demands a different life, which will require an attitude focused on permanent learning. For Judges, the public examination only ends when they retire," he said.

The test will consist of 80 questions that will assess the knowledge of the candidates on constitutional law, administrative law, general legal notions and humanistic training, human rights, civil procedural law, civil law, business law and criminal law. Check the Notice of ENAM .
