With the proposal to implement the Digital Memory Center of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins, the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) launched the audiovisual series on "Memories of Knowledge", which seeks to divulge the process of cataloguing, digitalizing, and storing historical documents from the courts of the State of Tocantins, aiming to democratize access to academic research about the historical context of society of the State of Tocantins.
Based on the Resolution n° 324 of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) of June 30th, 2020, which established guidelines and standards for Memory Management and Document Management and provides for the National Program for Document Management and Memory of the Judiciary (PRONAME), the “Memories of Knowledge” will dramatize through comics, also called GRAPHIC NOVELS, historical documents from the districts of the city of Paranã (formerly São João da Palma) and Porto Nacional, formerly known as Porto Real.
Currently, the documental collection of Esmat includes about 300 legal documents dating from the 19th century, sent by the courts of the State of Tocantins. For 2023, five documentary videos are planned to be inserted, which will dramatize the documents transcribed by the multidisciplinary team responsible for the work. The work also counts on the technical partnership of PhD professors from the History course at the Federal University of the State of Tocantins (UFT).
