More clarity, inclusion and access to Justice, these are the pillars of the course on "Simple Language with Judicial Document Consulting", which began on the morning of this Tuesday (September 23rd), at the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat).

The training brings together magistrates and civil servers of the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins in two days of intensive activities aimed at reviewing legal documents from the perspective of the simple language.

The action is taught by Professor Olívia Rocha Freitas, a nationally recognized expert and president of the Committee on Simple Language of the BAR/DF. The proposal integrates the commitment of the National Pact of the Judiciary for Simple Language, coordinated by the National Council of Justice (CNJ), which encourages more accessible and inclusive communication practices in the Justice System.

For Patrícia Idehara, executive secretary of the Permanent Commission on Accessibility and Inclusion of the TJTO, the experience reinforces the immediate applicability of the simple language in daily work.

“I’m really enjoying the practical approach of this course, especially for bringing real examples of documents with the 'before' and 'after' of the application of the simple language technique. It makes the content more concrete and directly applicable to our daily lives", she assessed.

In testimony, the judicial analyst Glacielle Torquato, highlighted that the training already has a positive impact.

“The course has shown how simple language is a powerful tool to approach the citizen to the Judiciary. The didactics of the teacher, interactivity and practical applicability make the experience very enriching. A valuable opportunity to improve communication in the Judiciary, making it clearer and more accessible," she said.

Over 16 hours of activities, the participants will have access to techniques for simplifying legal texts, practices with visual tools, automation with the use of artificial intelligence, as well as the construction of models applicable to the reality of the Court.

The activities end this Wednesday (September 24th), with more practical workshops and discussions on how to improve access to Justice through language.
