The Superior School of the Judges of the state of Amazonas (Esmam) is with open registrations for the project on "Book Club - The Judiciary reads women", which will be held in the online mode, with monthly meetings starting from April 30th. The initiative is aimed at magistrates, civil servers, trainees and collaborators, and it is also open to the interested public.

The project will be led by Professor and magistrate Vanessa Anitablian Baltazar and it aims to promote the formation of critical readers through the reading and analysis of works of contemporary Brazilian literature, with emphasis on female literary production. The programming brings together authors from different regions of the country and stimulates reflections on themes such as identity, territory, memory, violence and language, valuing the cultural and regional diversity of Brazil and the multiple female perspectives on social, historical and affective experience.

According to the general secretary of Esmam, João Paulo Jacob, the meetings will take place in the form of dialoged lectures, combining theoretical exhibitions with readings commented on literary and critical texts. Each meeting starts from the presentation of the historical, social and aesthetic context of the works and their authors, with support of bibliographic, iconographic and audiovisual material.

“The analysis of texts will be conducted collectively, stimulating interpretation, argumentation and listening among participants. The readings will be articulated with debates on themes such as identity, memory, violence, language and justice, favoring an interdisciplinary approach. The methodology favors the active participation of the public, through guided discussions, questions and exchanges of experiences, promoting the shared construction of meanings and the formation of readers", explained Jacob.
