The Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO) further strengthened the solidarity network that supports the 2nd Jud Pop Street Task Force. On Wednesday (September 10th), the Federal Revenue assigned about 400 pieces of clothing and 500 frames of glasses, to be delivered to people in street situation and social vulnerability who will be attended during the event, scheduled for this Friday (September 12th), at the Almirante Tamandaré Full-time School in the city of Palmas.

The new donation is in addition to 1,500 pieces already passed previously by the institution and contributions from the General Internal Affairs of Justice (CGJUS), the Forums of the cities of Palmas and Guaraí and the Federal Prosecution (MPF). The action reinforces the support chain that will guarantee humanized care, dignity and access to rights for those who need it most.

The delivery of the new donations took place at the Federal Revenue, in the city of Palmas, and it was attended by the president of the TJTO, Justice Maysa Vendramini Rosal; the coordinator of the Jud Pop Street Regional Committee, Justice Ângela Prudente; and Judge Rosa Maria Gazire Rossi.

During the act, the authorities signed the term of destination of the goods, consolidating the partnership between the Federal Revenue and the TJTO.

For the dignity of the person

On the occasion, Justice Ângela Prudente highlighted the importance of the action for the dignity of the people served. "This project is done with partnerships, and the Federal Revenue is a great ally. We are here today to collect these donations. The purpose of the Jud Pop Street is to open doors for access to the most vulnerable population. We will be there to care, with empathy, with humanity, to rescue the dignity of these people", she said.

The delegate of the Federal Revenue in the state of Tocantins, Ricardo Magalhães, also emphasized the social impact of the initiative. "Federal Revenue is much honored to participate in this project. We will be present in two ways: with the provision of regularization services of CPF (Registration of a natural person), important for access to social programs, and with the destination of seized goods that, in partnership with the TJTO, were de-characterized and will now benefit the population. It is a very impactful project; therefore, Federal Revenue embraces this cause”.

Solidarity network

In addition to the Federal Revenue, Jud Pop Street Task Force also received donations from the General Internal Affairs of Justice (CGJUS), the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), the Forums of the cities of Palmas and Guaraí, and the Federal Prosecution (MPF), which, last week, passed clothes and shoes collected by the organ. The delivery was made by the analyst of the MPF, Alliny Naves.

Customization

The clothing donated by the Federal Revenue, because they are the result of seizures, must undergo a de characterization process before being destined for social purposes. This work is carried out through the Social Network Project, developed by the Social Office of the city of Palmas, an initiative of the TJTO in partnership with the Secretariat of Citizenship and Justice.

On site, the clothes are customized by former inmates of the prison system and their families. The fake brands that printed the pieces are replaced by embroidery or paintings, giving them a new identity and a new purpose, either through donations or marketing for social purposes.

Volunteer of the Social Office, the cutting and sewing teacher Joelma Alencar explains how the work is carried out.  "The Social Office gets scraps of synthetic material, donated by tapestries; we cut in the size of the brand and make an embroidery on top or a painting", she details.

According to her, the whole process is done with care and dedication. "During production, we test the best point to be used. One makes the seam, another cuts the lines and folds, and the rest of the team confers the already customized pieces”.
