The third interview of the Indigenous April project, with indigenous leader Sheila Baxy Apinaje, will be conducted by Judge Wellington Magalhães and it will be debated by Judge Aline Bailão Iglesias. The interview will be available on Tuesday (April 17th) at 5pm.

The debate will cover topics such as the culture, customs and traditions of the indigenous peoples; the difficulties and barriers to access public health, education and security services; education and professional training for indigenous people; the role of the indigenous women in the family and community; and the dialogical relationship among the judiciary, culture and the rights and duties of the indigenous peoples.
The project ends on April 19th with the final series of four interviews with indigenous leaders. Conceived by Judge Wellington Magalhães, the initiative aims to discuss ways of aligning and articulating projects and public policies aimed at the indigenous peoples of the State of Tocantins, by listening to and debating with representatives of the indigenous peoples of the State and the public institutions that serve them, in order to contribute to guarantee the rights, promoting respect, autonomy and protagonism of these peoples, considering the art. 231 of the Federal Constitution and the terms of the Resolution 454 of the National Council of Justice of 2019.
