Conversation Round Discusses Inclusion And Combating Lgbtqiapn+Phobia At Work

On Tuesday (October 31st), the Superior School of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) held a conversation round discussion: Diversity and Inclusion and combating LGBTQIAPN+phobia at work, with the aim of discussing diversity and inclusion, and thinking about combating LGBTQIAPN+phobia in the reality of the work environment of each civil server and magistrate in the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins.

Luiz Geraldo do Carmo Gomes, facilitator of the event, pointed out that individuals can be recognized based on their gender, sex or affective-sexual orientation.

"None of these excludes the other. They are components of human sexuality, and they are understood, expressed, in the sense of understanding that when we talk about gender, we're talking about how a person understands themselves. How do you understand yourself, male, female or non-binary? Then there's the affective-sexual orientation, the little heart. How do you relate to that? Do you relate to male, female or non-binary? And then there's the biological sex and gender expression, which depends on culture, because a female gender expression in Brazil is different from a female gender expression in Arabia, and it's different from a female gender expression in Japan," he explained didactically.

The fight against LGBTQIAPN+phobia at work is related to respect for diversity and the inclusion of all people, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. This means ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all employees, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. The activity took place online via the Google Meet platform.
