Registrations are open until September 16th for the course on "Preparation of Sentences in Military Criminal Proceedings and Civil Cases of Competence of the Military Justice", promoted by the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat). The training will be held from September 30th to October 3rd, in face-to-face mode, with a workload of 32 class hours.
Under the coordination of Judge José Ribamar Mendes Júnior, the course is aimed at magistrates and civil servers of the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins, with the objective of deepening technical-legal performance in the State Military Justice, criminal and civil spheres.
The proposal of the initiative reflects, according to the coordinator, the need for specialized training to deal with the legal institutions of the Military Justice:
“The Military Justice has its own legal institutions, which differentiate it from common criminal and civil proceedings. Therefore, this training is essential not only for those who act directly in the State Military Justice, but also for magistrates and civil servers of the Common Justice, especially in the exercise of jurisdiction on duty or in the second degree. Training contributes to legal certainty, strengthens forensic practice and prepares professionals to deal with sensitive situations, such as crimes of abuse of authority by military personnel, ensuring due process and the preservation of human rights”.
There are 50 vacancies, 10 for magistrates and 40 for civil servers. If there are remaining places, it will be possible to meet the requests for participation of professionals from other institutions, by forwarding to the coordination of the course by e-mail
The program content is divided into three modules: Military Criminal Law, Military Criminal Procedural Law and Civil Jurisdiction of the State Military Courts. The classes will be conducted by teachers Cícero Robson Coimbra Neves, prosecutor of military justice of the Prosecution of the Union, and Reinaldo Zichar de Moraes, colonel of the reserve of the Military Police of the state of São Paulo and doctor in Police Sciences of Security and Public Order.
