
The Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy (Copedem), with institutional support from the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), has opened registrations for the international course on “Global Connections: Law, Innovation and Artificial Intelligence”, which will be held from October 13th to 22nd in four cities in the Popular Republic of China: Beijing, Shanghai, Macau and Shenzhen.
The mission is part of the strategic agenda of Copedem to strengthen the training of Judicial School leaders, with a focus on academic and institutional exchange with international centers of excellence in the areas of Innovation, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Governance.
The general coordination of the course is the responsibility of Justice Marco Anthony Villas Boas, general director of Esmat and president of Copedem. The scientific coordination is led by Justice João Otávio de Noronha, while the executive coordination is the responsibility of Professors Maria de Lourdes Gonçalves, CEO of the Legal Memory Center - Memory - and Ana Beatriz de Oliveira Pretto, executive director of Esmat.
Preliminary programming
The agenda includes academic activities, institutional dialogues and technical visits to prominent institutions such as Peking University, the Beijing Internet Court, the Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, the University of Macau, the Macau Magistrates Training Center and the Shenzhen Technology Hub.
The programming will also include the participation of Supreme Court Justices, professors from USP and UFT, as well as members of the Professional Doctorate Program in Governance and Digital Transformation at UFT/ESMAT and professors from the Chinese partner universities.
In order to make the organization with the host institutions feasible, the directors of the interested Judicial Schools must confirm their participation by July 10th.
